Chios Island, just 25 minutes from Izmir's Çeşme port, remains a favourite destination for tourists, particularly during the summer months, thanks to its border gate visa opportunity.

Turkish citizens with a burgundy passport must either hold a valid Schengen visa or take advantage of the border gate visa opportunity at Chios Island in order to travel there. Holders of green passports can travel to Chios Island without a visa.

Passengers who want to take advantage of the Chios Island border gate visa option must send the following documents to us by courier at least 8 days in advance.

Chios Island Border Gate Visa Documents

1) Photocopy of the first page of your passport with your photograph

2) 2 recent biometric photographs

3) Signed Greece port visa application form (the form is completed by our travel consultants; your signature is sufficient)

4) Printout of the round-trip ferry ticket obtained from Feribotlines.com

5) Confirmation letter from the hotel if accommodation is required (For hotels booked through Feribotlines, this will be obtained by our travel consultants.)

6) Photocopy of identity documents for children

Chios Island Visa: What You Need to Know

For Chios Island visa applications, the application documents must be delivered to us in person or by courier 8 days in advance.

Only Turkish citizens can benefit from the convenience of the Chios Island visa.

Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months from the date of travel and have at least 2 blank pages.

If you are providing accommodation documentation, it must include the names of the persons staying, the length of stay, and the amount paid to the hotel, and the reservation must be paid for.

Once your application file has been prepared with the documents sent to us, it will be forwarded to the port of Chios Island and your procedures will be initiated. We work to ensure that you wait for the minimum amount of time at the border crossing.

Your visa period is granted for a maximum of 7 days and a single entry, in accordance with the accommodation documents you provide during your application.

On the day of your journey, when you arrive at the port of Chios Island, you must proceed to the separate queue designated for border gate visa applications and wait for your visa to be approved and printed.

Even if your documents have been sent in advance for your Chios Island visa application, you will still need to wait due to the procedures at the port.

No refunds will be given if your Chios Island border gate visa application is rejected.

Once border gate visa procedures have been sent to the border gate, no cancellations, refunds, date changes or suspensions can be made.

Passengers with a TRNC stamp in their passport cannot travel to Greece.
